Gold futures prices today fell by 0.23 per cent to Rs 26,768 per 10 grams as participants engaged in trimming positions amid weak global cues.
Besides, subdued demand at domestic spot markets, too, weighed on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June, fell by Rs 62, or 0.23 per cent, to trade at Rs 26,768 per 10 grams in a turnover of 453 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August shed Rs 28, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 25,810 per 10 gm in 194 lots.
SILVER
Amid a weakening trend overseas, silver prices fell by 0.14 per cent to Rs 40,071 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 58, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 40,071 per kg in business turnover of 45 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 45, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 39,974 per kg in business volume of 880 lots.
