SILVER
Silver prices rose by 0.18 per cent to Rs 40,970 per kg in futures trading today as speculators
created fresh positions on the back of recovery in the precious metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July traded Rs 74, or 0.18 per cent,
higher at Rs 40,970 per kg in business turnover of 530 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month September traded higher by Rs 49, or 0.12
per cent, to Rs 41,529 per kg in 8 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators largely in tandem with a firming
trend in the global markets, influenced silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver gained 0.20 per cent to USD 19.43 an ounce in Singapore.
