GOLD
- Gold futures rose by 0.21 per cent to Rs 29,066 per 10 grams today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a firming trend in the Asian region.
- At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June gained Rs 61, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 29,066 per 10 grams in a business turnover of five lots.
- The metal for delivery in April moved up by Rs 48, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 29,423 per 10 grams in a turnover of 443 lots.
SILVER
- Silver prices rose by 1.19 per cent to Rs 47,168 per kg in futures trade today on rising trend in precious metals overseas.
- At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Silver for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 555, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 47,168 per kg in business turnover of 1,346 lots.
- Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May also traded higher by Rs 555, or 1.17 per cent, at Rs 48,001 per kg in a turnover of 91 lots.
- In the international market, silver bounced 2.20 per cent, to trade at $21.97 an ounce, the highest level since November 7 in Singapore.
