SILVER
- Silver prices edged higher by Rs 180 to Rs 44,850 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions on firming global trend.
- At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 180, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 44,850 per kg in a business turnover of 532 lots.
- Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May contract traded higher by Rs 142, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 45,728 per kg in 67 lots.
- Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators buoyed by a firming trend in the precious metals overseas mainly pushed up silver prices at futures trade.
- Meanwhile, silver added 0.70 per cent to $ 20.21 an ounce in Singapore.
