GOLD
Gold prices declined by 0.21 per cent to Rs 29,227 per ten grams in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions driven by a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold for delivery in February declined by Rs 61, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 29,227 per ten grams in a business turnover of 1,556 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 45, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 28,655 per ten grams in 93 lots.
SILVER
Silver prices fell by 0.46 per cent to Rs 44,818 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced positions on weak cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, Silver for delivery in March fell by Rs 206, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 44,818 per kg in a business turnover of 1,984 lots.
In a similar fashion, the white metal for delivery in May lost Rs 112, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 45,899 per kg in 46 lots
